iHyperChem comes in two versions:
- Mobile HyperChem Free
- Mobile HyperChem Level 1
Mobile HyperChem supports all three platforms:
All products are identical on the iPhone and iPod Touch. The iPad versions differ slightly because of the iPad's larger size. The iPad versions allow a periodic table such that any element can be modelled. The smaller iPhone and iPod allow only the elements H, C, N, O, F, P, S, and Cl so that it is limited essentially to organic chemistry. The smaller iPhone and iPod screen use menu items to replace certain buttons of the iPad screen.
Mobile HyperChem Free and Mobile HyperChem Level 1 differ essentially in that the Level 1 product has access to the internet for transferring molecules to and from the mobile device. It also can run scripts over the internet to perform calculations and retrieve results back to the mobile device. To do so it requires access to HyperChem for Windows. The Level 1 product costs $9.95.
All versions of Mobile HyperChem are available only though The App Store of Apple Computer (accesible from each mobile device).
